Carlos and his team are fantastic. I used turbo tax for many years and ended up having some issues. Used another accountant, briefly, poor communication and poor work. Had a friend recommend SmartTax and weve been with them ever since. Very informative, very communicative. Their portal is helpful and allows you to do most everything virtually. Love the meetings we have with Carlo right before we file, hes straightforward and extremely knowledgeable. Just the type of person you want when it comes to accounting!

I went to Carlos at SmarTax to help prepare my returns for some previous tax years, and my experience could not have been better. They were friendly and flexible in scheduling an appointment. Before my appointment, I was able to provide all my financial documents and answer questions on their taxpayer organizer through a secure website, which saved time. Carlos was very professional, friendly, and set reasonable expectations. Their fees are reasonable and transparent.

Thanks for finally picking up my call. Sad that you only did it because I called from a different phone number. If you do not want to work with a client, please simply say so. To dodge calls and pick up on first ring when I call from a different number and then come up with an excuse that you are out of the office when your website shows you are in today 12/22/22 9am to 5pm: April through to December, is dissappointing and really an unnecessary waste of time. I am fully responsible for the delays in my filings and to help avoid further delays, just be upfront with clients, it really saves them time, as well as you and is only professional to do vs. the intentional screening of calls.I now know that you will not work with clients faced with financial challenges, which is fine and really could have just been quicker to say it right away vs. avoiding my calls and only responding to my email when I called. Times are tough for everyone so I do not hold your decision not to consider service at a discounted rate, against you. I don't even know your current pricing to be honest, it may be over the $500 that I paid a couple of years back, but sadly I never even got to that discussion. What I suggest for the next person in my shoes that approaches you is just a quicker "NO" as it helps elimiate delays for the person receiving the NO and they can move on quicker to find a new place to try.You were great when I worked with you and I do not doubt you still are which is why I came back. My frustration is from the run-around that really could have been handled better. Best of luck.PS. Your website shows you are open. Was the claim not to be open a lie? Picked on on 1st ring when called from a different number.
