Fantastic place to stay right outside of Cortez. Very large living room & kitchen area, and lots of bedroom space! Theres a larger master bedroom downstairs where parents could stay, and 3 other beds upstairs (1 with a firm mattress and 2 with normal mattresses) where kids could sleep. The owners even surprised us with cookies! Highly recommend staying here, especially if youre checking out the nearby Mesa Verde National Park.

Wow! Immaculate place in a beautiful rural setting with mountain views. Everything is truly perfect and we hope to be back often. The location is perfect for visiting Mesa Verde and the drive up through the San Juan Skyway. Breathtaking sights.

We have stayed at Stone Turtle Lodges twice now, and will return again. The location is in rural Cortez, Colorado and it's incredibly peaceful and quiet. We stay in one of the three cabins. All three cabins have huge picture windows that look out towards the beautiful mesa. In addition to the three cabins there is a small efficiency apartment. The cabins are fully functional with a separate bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living room. Additionally, each cabin has an upstairs loft (fully enclosed) with three twin beds for the kids. The cabins also have large windows in the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen that can be opened, so the fresh air circulation is outstanding. We stayed in late July and late September, both times we never had to turn on the air condition. The entrance to Mesa Verde National Park and its main visitor center is only about 10 miles from Stone Turtle Lodges. Durango is about an hour's drive away. You cannot choose a better place to stay that is centrally located, so you can easily visit all the fascinating places in southwest Colorado. You and your family will love and remember your visit at Stone Turtle Lodges.
