I'm grateful my son was able to graduate from this school. For years I put up with a predominantly Hispanic school. I never understood why there were little to no African Americans in this school. I found out at his graduation. It's because the school caters to all Hispanics and they do not acknowledge the African Americans with the same respect. At the graduation there was maybe 1-3 families who were African American. They spoke what they wanted about their struggle, completely ignoring the fact that the blacks, as they call us have a similar struggle. They played a mariachi band with a "traditional Mexican folk song" and completely omitted the song stairway to heaven, I guess that was too black for them. There were only kudos for the Hispanics and not one African American was acknowledged nor was there an African American speaker. They were so concerned about there culture they mentioned it several times. Not once was there any concern about the shootings and beatings that take place every day towards African Americans, nor was there any mention of all the school shootings. There should have been. Yet they all stood for the American flag that wants to deport the majority of them back to wherever. Not to mention when they spoke Spanish right in our face but did not give any head phone's for us to interpret what they said. This behavior has been going on since the beginning of when my son first started attending Bruce. The have meetings geared toward the Mexicans, not once did they show concern about African American community. I haven't even addressed the fact that there are no Asian students and there is maybe one caucasian student. I attended my own graduation and there was a night and day difference. The RACE card was not an issue. I attended my other son's continuation and the RACE card was not played there either. Not because there was no Mexicans, no, there was 75% Mexicans in both my school and my other sons. Yet somehow the environment was not aimed at pleasing just the Mexicans. This school Bruce Randolph is racist, I can tell the staff all the way up to the principal Mr. Cedillo is racist and it has always felt like they never wanted us there because we were not Mexican. I attended a school meeting and there was nothing but Mexicans there they all looked at me crazy. My son even received a scholarship, but received no acknowledgement. Whilst all the Mexican children have their names written in the graduation program. But hey, wait a minute..... wasn't Daddy Bruce black? I'm glad Mr. Cedillo is moving on, cause he's probably the main reason along with his staff for the lack of concern towards other races. I pray this changed soon and I regret having allowed my child to attend this school as long as he did. African Americans are not the reason for your struggle humpty dumpty trump is. And... as I recall black people don't exist. We are just as brown as you people are.
