Painting with a Twist

The first class I booked was cancelled but I wasn't really worried about it since it was easy to reschedule, however, the studio was messy, it was hard to find good parking, and I felt like the instructor just wasn't that friendly/welcoming.. Can't remember his name.. I think I'll be trying another studio for my next class...

**warning more so for future employees** I have worked as an artist and assistant manager at PWAT for the past 6.5 years of my life and just want to give a warning about this location. I want to start by saying the artists are fantastic but mistreated by the owner of this studio. Countless times paychecks have been wrong, tips have been stolen, and certain hours she blatantly didn't pay us for. Her whole team within the past 4 weeks has basically walked out on her because of the conditions at the studio regarding pay, communication, and hosting a fundraiser for a hate group. There are plenty of other great local locations where staff isn't mistreated like in Lakewood, Aurora, and Fort Collins.

I had so much fun with this class, Joe reminded me about how much fun and lively painting can be. Even with opening day and the crowd outside, it was a completely different atmosphere inside. He even sent an email telling us to come early so we could have time to get through the crowds. The painting itself was so much fun to make. I felt like I forgot the stresses of everyday life and got to let go and have fun. Highly recommend for anyone that wants to sit and relax and have fun with some paint!!!

Poor quality instruction, needlessly messy and complex paintings well beyond the skills of casual painters, and a horrendously busy and sketchy neighbourhood. I don't really see any compelling reasons to ever return. Plus at $40 a person, it's excessively expensive given the value proposition. Do not recommend.
