Were very happy with the NPS and our 3 year old loves the school! Teachers are all really nice and well prepared, have lots of experience and do an amazing job with the little ones. Love that tots can spend lots of time outside in the playground but also have a really good set up indoors with a brand new classroom! My mother in law has been a teacher for over 30 years and she was very impressed with the classroom and activities they do every day. I particularly like the system they have at NPS for keeping parents updated about activities and the great communication with parents. Highly recommend!

The Neighborhood Preschool is a dream preschool for our son! Marti, Jess, Kelly and Sarah are gifted teachers who create an optimal play based learning environment that our child looks forward to attending and that supports his development and love of learning. Parent education opportunities, detailed communication with families, and home visits before the school year demonstrate the commitment to providing the best early learning environment. We are lucky to attend this school!

We love Neighborhood Play School! It's been an absolute game-changer for our 3 year old. The classroom is an amazing space and my daughter loves interacting with everything in there. There's also a great playground immediately out the front door so the kids get to spend a ton of time outside, which I love. All of the teachers are incredible and care deeply for the students and school. Highly recommend.

Get in while you can at this school! We are so lucky we discovered The Neighborhood Play School before it opened this fall and thus got a spot for our toddler for the first cohort. (We drive all the way across town for it.) Everywhere else in Denver, preschools of this caliber are completely full and only siblings get in, and you can expect that The NPS will be the same going forward. The staff are well-educated in child development and come with years of teaching experience at other highly competitive preschool programs. They're kind and gentle. When we first toured, I watched Marti pick up my stranger-shy toddler easily and carry him around without him fighting, when he'd never at that point let anyone but us hold him, and when another kid got a little bump on her head on the playground, Jess was able to pick her up and carry her to her mom so calmly she never even cried. The curriculum is play-based and Emergent and it's held in its own sweet little wing of a neighborhood church (not affiliated with the religion). The space was designed just for the kids and the door opens onto a little fenced playground. It's one of the few preschools available that offers developmentally appropriate caregiver-child classes. So the first year, a caregiver goes with a child for a short time once a week, the next year, the child goes alone, for a little longer time period, and the next year, at about age four, they are ready for a regular (but still play-based) preschool class with a natural progression to that stage of independence. We looked soo hard to find a school that followed this philosophy, and even the few prestigious longstanding preschools that start with caregiver-child classes I think then abruptly went to full-day preschool for the child, alone without the caregiver, the next term/year. Marti's philosophy at The Neighborhood Play School, of graduated independence in a gentle, Reggio Emilio-inspired setting, is truly one of a kind and we are so glad we got lucky and got our kid in. Expect this school to succeed wildly!

Marti has assembled a phenomenal team of highly educated and experienced teachers. This school is going to be a wonderful place for toddlers, employing a play-based pedagogy that is well researched and thoughtfully implemented. Above all else it is filled with loving, kind, and caring teachers where the students will thrive!
