Good challenge after a two year hiatus of climbing 14ers! This was my 44th and 45th fourteener! Re-summiting RedCloud was tough but as usual, going down was the most miserable part for this 43 year old. I was slower than my average speed due to living near sea level for two years until this past June when we moved back. Thank goodness for good weather because Re-summiting RedCloud and starting the descent at 1pm is ill advised during late spring to summer. We got lucky and I advise people to know what they are getting into...even it is a so called easier two peaks to climb. I always see people unprepared on every 14er. However, I did not see that on this particular hike. First one out of 43. It was an amazing day!

Really nice trail from Silver Creek/Grizzly Gulch. Dont forget to turn around and see 14er Handies Peak. Please stay in the trails, its a fragile environment up there. Great views all the way across the Rockies.

Everything I like in a peak and nothing more. Except a few people. But not too bad that day.

I love hiking in the San Juan mountains and Redcloud Peak is worthy of the effort. Amazing views.
