My experience with these guys is mostly good. Yes, I would rent from them again.
The guy who answered the phone was a little salty, as others have mentioned. I almost hung up but powered through since I had a weather window to work in and they were my only option.
Their 36" trencher is broken, so I got a Toro Dingo with a bucket and a trencher attachment - more money, but I could use the bucket for other work during the day.
When I arrived, both of the guys in the office were very friendly and professional. I liked both of them, and I'm guessing that neither of them was the phone guy.
The trencher attachment did not work, it was seized up and one guy spent 20 minutes or so with a grease gun and some WD40-type lube getting it to spin. It looks like most of their equipment sits out in the elements so things are going to be rusty.
The machine shows wear, but it's rental equipment so I think it's adequate. I had some issues with the trencher binding, but forward/reverse/forward on it and it would free up. By the time I was through it worked fine.
My reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the $28.44 fees/DW charge on the bill. They do mention a 4% credit card fee, but my total for the day was $360 and 4% would be $14.40 so they really charged me 8%. Shame on me for not noticing right away or I would have asked.
Yes I'd rent again, but only with clarity on what the fees/DW charge is. I would happily pay the 4% credit card fee so I can protest the charge if the machine didn't work/etc, but certainly not 8%.
