It's only a good option to use H&R Block if you absolutely have no other choice. The price I was quoted went up by more than $100 at the end of it. The manager of the store forced me to help her figure out how to work her phone while I was paying for service. The woman I worked with couldn't comprehend what I was trying to tell her.

Despite this tax preparer having over 28 years of alleged tax preparation experience, she made the following errors on my federal and state tax returns:
1. Tax preparer told me that my military retirement was subject to a 10% early withdraw fee because I am not 59 and a half years old. This information was false and does not apply to military pensions as they are considered "non-qualified retirement accounts."
2. The tax preparer also seems to be unaware that as a military retiree she should have recommended that I claim the "military retirement subtraction on form DR0104AD" for a $15,000 exemption on my Colorado state tax return. Because she failed to do so, now I must have my state tax return amended to claim the exemption.
3. Most concerning is that despite having provided and verified the correct routing and account numbers for the direct deposit of my returns, she listed improper routing and account numbers on my Colorado State return paperwork on page 3.
