Strega Restaurant

We arrived early for our reservation and were promptly accommodated to and seated. Our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. The food was delectable, from the Tuna Tar Tar, Polpo, and Meatballs; to fork- tender lamb and flavorful pasta in a homemade sauce. The scallops were a hit at the table The tiramisu is a game changer. The drinks were refreshing as well as strong. A warm and modern cohesive decor sets the mood for a good meal with good wine.

Strega is a small upscale Italian restaurant with a modern feel. The menu is simple but sophisticated at the same time. The focaccia bread is flavorful and well seasoned. The meatballs and sauce are traditional Italian excellence. The scallop appetizer was cooked to perfection. I was able to taste the gnocchi and it was a little more dense than usual but still good. My entree was the stuffed Cannelloni with bolugnese sauce. The pasta tasted fresh and the sauce was seasoned well. All in all a good experience. Unfortunately we did not try the pizza but it looked and smelled good. It was a bit warm in the restaurant, if it had been warmer out side we may have been uncomfortable without AC.

We tried Strega for the first time last night. It was a very pleasant experience. The service was exceptional as was the food. Great Atmosphere!

UPDATE: Thank you to the managers for responding. I will correct my statement that the gnocchi was frozen. I guess it is just firmer/less melt-in-your-mouth lightness than I am used to with fresh gnocchi elsewhere. Very disappointingIm a huge gnocchi afficionado. The gnocchi was heavier and firmer than where Ive had elsewherewas not a fanthe tomatoes (in the caprese salad) were either refrigerated or frozen, no flavor whatsoeverwere a pale red. The mozzarella in the caprese wasnt particularly flavorful. The rosemary focaccia was delicious, but the gnocchi alla sorentina and gnocchi cacio e pepe were disappointing (not enough pepper on the latter, and the cheese was not super flavorful). The caprese was extremely disappointingIve bought red, juicy tomatoes at the grocery store this week so its not like theyre unavailable. Will not be going back.
