This was a last minute booking because my family was sick when I came to visit and I wanted to leave before I got sick as well. I used my points and this was by far the best place where I used my points. The staff was wonderful and accommodating in the room was Immaculate and it was quiet and I will definitely consider staying here when I come back to visit because it was a wonderful experience.

It was like they knew what I like. It's techy, they are trying to be eco-friendly/sustainable, and they had organic coffee. The only drawbacks were the view (IKEA parking lot) and the size of the luggage rack. (My suitcase was not stable on that rack.) Otherwise, the stay (3 days, 2 nights) was fantastic. It wasn't completely quiet, but I could sleep. The room was very clean and well-maintained.

LOCATION Centrally located by I-91 and Long Wharf, right near the water. Looks across the bay to East Haven. PARKING Free and easy. All the standard spots are a short walk to the hotel entrance. If needed, there's an IKEA next door with a huge parking lot. There's a privacy fence in between; you just gotta go around it. CHECK-IN In a word, frictionless. You can check in and get a digital key through the Hilton app, or you can pick up traditional key cards at the reception desk. Though I reserved through a non-Hilton service, all they needed to find my reservation was my last name. Within 2 minutes, I had my keys, a brief but informative rundown of the hotel and its services, and clear directions to my room. ROOMS From the elevator, it was a short walk to my room. I had what Hilton calls a lightwell room, with two queen beds. It was clean, comfortable, and adequately sized. Lights were controlled both by simple buttons and by a touchpad at the room entrance. Lighting itself tended towards soft and pleasant, but still clear enough to see and read. Blinds (both blackout and translucent) were also controlled by the touchpad. An AC unit was mounted in the ceiling near the entrance; it too was controlled by the touchpad. It was quiet when it was turned on; might've been one of the newer inverter units. And even when the AC was off, temperature did not exceed 71 F. The bathroom was nicely sized, with a generous shower and plenty of towels. As a bonus, the hot/cold water controls in the shower were actually intuitive, which is less common in modern hotels than you might think. The room had a couple combination outlets with power, USB-A, and USB-C ports. Noise level was broadly low. The faintest reverb from I-91 was audible, mostly only from semi trucks. It didn't affect my sleep at all. By one of the beds was a combination closet/drawer setup with multiple compartments. Here you can stow your clothing and the like. You'll also find a steaming iron and the mini-fridge within. By the other bed was a long narrow desk with a small chair. Only criticism: I might've liked to have seen more homestyle colors (e.g. brown wood floors, pale gold walls) and less gray. Still that's an aesthetic & design choice; it has zero bearing on the staff. SERVICE Everyone I met was friendly, approachable, and helpful. Special mention to Brianna who promptly acknowledged my request to check the AC (it didn't seem to turn on). Shortly after, I headed out to town for a few hours. Just as she promised, the AC was fixed by the time I returned. OVERALL One of the best stays I've ever had, both at traditional hotels and at Airbnbs. That it runs on 100% sustainable energy is the cherry on top. When I visit New Haven again, the Marcel will be at the top of my list.
