Unfortunately some practitioners still disregard the concerns and questions Black female patients. If you need a Dr that listens to you find another one like I'm doing.

Dr. De Castro is very thorough and professional! She is the first physician that actually called me to discuss my care!

Dr. De Castro has practices that show no empathy or compassion. I arrived 7 minutes late because of traffic and office location misunderstanding. I called to make them aware that I was going to be a few minutes late before my scheduled appointment time and was transferred to the front desk where I had to leave a message, which I did. I got there-7 minutes late-and was told she does not see patients late if they are not in the office at the appointment time. I completed the check in process in advance online and told them so. The ladies at the front desk team noted there was more paperwork then what was online. I asked them if they would ask Dr. DeCastro to show some mercy as I had wrong location AND to remind them that I had been trying for months to get this "new patient" appointment. They told me she does not make exceptions. I asked them to request it anyway and to remind her that this appointment was rescheduled by Dr. DeCastro from MARCH when her office called because the dr "had something come up and needed to reschedule." The first available time was today-June 12, three months later. Her response, no, I need to reschedule. Well needless to say, I did not reschedule. I can only imagine what type of physician you are going to be to me if you lack any compassion at all. I am new to Seaford and still trying to learn my way around. Doctors seem to be limited here with availability. I will just have to make the drive somewhere else. I do not recommend this doctor if you are looking for someone that cares about people and treats them as she would want to be treated. I had no choice when she needed to reschedule due to her life matters for months later and could not get any grace extended for being 7 minutes late!
