Cultural Tourism DC, Inc. is a tiny nonprofit that needed to engage a new firm to audit/review its financials and prepare Form 990. I found Altruic Advisors, PLLC and it turned out to be a real find. Three years later I am delighted with my decision. Altruic works with us. Together, we create a schedule, we provide our documents, and they perform their work. Just before we finalize their work, we have a conversation about the results so that I am well prepared for my board's review in their oversight capacity. They have a system that works well for us and is reasonably priced. Put Altruic on your short list and learn if it can be a good fit for your organization.

We used Altruic for two years at a time when we needed to overhaul and update our accounting system and they were excellent, professional, responsive, and dependable. The accountant assigned to us was wonderful to work with, and extremely helpful in supporting the new staff we had hired, and in providing training or direction where needed. And Ryan Hagins expertise and attentiveness in helping us resolve some larger issues was invaluable.

Altruic is a dangerous company. I caution all nonprofits from using this firm. In a 12-month engagement, turnover at Altruic was so high that three different accountants were assigned to our account. They missed payroll out of complete negligence. They did not close our books monthly. They have no regard for digital security and pass bank passwords around the firm to assistants and others with careless disregard. Ryan Hagan, who oversaw our account offered us numerous free months and even did our 990s for free because they made so many mistakes. But by the end of the engagement he was rude, hostile and wildly unprofessional. Working with Altruic was the worst experience we've had in 14 years of doing business. Serious caution to all nonprofits who need accounting services. Altruic will do more harm than good. Wev'e also reported them to the Better Business Bureau. **Forgot to add, they refused to hand over work papers to our new accountant. Wildly unprofessional.
