Ivy City Hotel

Nice place: some of NOT the best people stay there. :children screaming, running around, parents not present, late at night screaming: fighting, I'll not stay here again.

I had to switch rooms because the toilet was running in the room they gave me. The other room reeks of smoke even though I was told all rooms were non smoking. The air conditioner is filthy and has never been cleaned. The shower drain was clogged with hair. Theres a screaming baby running around outside.

Any other option is better than here, and will be worth any extra dollar. Even for a cheaper price, I wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone. The place looks decent from the outside, but the rooms are pretty rough. Our room smelled like a burnt cigarette, mold was found on shower curtain, sink takes hours to drain, and on the last night here we spotted bed bugs on our pillow. We didnt request a new room for that as it was already later at night in the last night so it was already too late for that, and it is very unlikely any other room would be any better. Walls seem to be paper thin too, so if the neighbor has a dog or child up at 4am (or every hour in the night like we had), or the people wandering around the area decide to have a screaming match, youll hear every word. This also is true for the train that passes by, but this isnt a bother for me Rooms: Dirty Safety: Sketchy area at best, not the best place to be around especially at night Walkability: Target nearby, but thats about it

Idea location, but the room assigned was terrible even for a 2 star hotel. The hot water didnt work in the shower. It literally took us running the water for 20 minutes for the hot water to kick in. The heater and ac didnt work, so we were provided a space heater. The wall plugs were not available and the one available was connect to the lamp so the heater kept cutting off. The wall plug in the bathroom didnt work. At first I thought it was the hair dryer not working, but after the attendant brought a second hair dryer and it didnt work in the bathroom so we ended up pulling the mattress of the wall to accessible the wall plug to plug in the hair dryer, then after that plug in the space heater. Its currently 12:15am, and we ended up leaving and going to another hotel.
