Hilton Washington DC National Mall The Wharf

Hotel room was very clean and all the staff was accommodating and friendly. The location is great for walkable sightseeing. It is however located near/above some major roadways and walking back from the wharf I found it tricky figuring out how to get up to the hotel level. Walking to the national mall was easy to navigate.

Hotel looks pretty brand new and wonderful location. However, I judge my hotels by how comfortable they are, and sadly the air conditioning does not work. Despite setting the thermostat at 69 degrees, the room never gets below 74 degrees. You hear the AC running (super loud requiring ear plugs to sleep) but its all noise and no substance. Tried calling the front desk but no answer.

This Hilton is probably the best Hilton property I have ever stayed at. First, the proximity of this Hilton to the sites you want to visit in DC is perfect. Was able to do walk from the hotel to the spots we wanted to see the most. Very close to the National Mall and Smithsonians.
Now the real reason they got such a high rating from me. There was a snafu from when I reserved the room on the Hilton Honors app. They called me before my trip to inform me they had to change my room, but were so accommodating when making my new arrangements I couldn't be mad at all. They were so professional and made feel like they truly cared.
Then came the arrival. The manager knew exactly who I was after a brief intro and expressed his apologies for what happened. He was so accommodating and friendly, it was well above and beyond. Every single time we walked back into the hotel, he and his staff went out of his way to say hello to us by name and made sure to check in on how good of a time we were having.
Thank you for making me and my family feel like we were the only guests in this huge hotel that was full of guests.
I can't recommend this hotel enough!!!
