Center Montessori School

The school is amazing. They help kids catch up so if any child is behind they help the kid and they are amazing at it.

Teaching my child without my knowledge or permission about about Hindu - buddist gods wasnt until a coloring book of the gods that serve Hindu for different feelings came home on Friday folder was I aware than asking my 5 year old about the book she went on to tell me all week they had a celebration and that is what her candle was for to light it - (When she brought it home she had said they were lighting these candles they made in class ) When I Went to the teacher and administration they acted like they had no answers and I would have to wait until Mara was available yet the teacher is the one who taught the lesson - They went on to tell me they know all the material and it was cultural celebration they had in class - I asked the daughter of the founder of the school if she had every read the book and if she knew what it was all about and after avoiding the question 3xs she said no she had not - the school has a great outside look - But all parents should beware leaving our children in the hands of such incompetent people for 4-8 hours a Day -is scary- They believe teaching the Hindu gods and reenacting the festival in their class to 5 year olds is appropriate If I hadnt found that coloring book I would have never know what was really being taught to the extreme it was being taught - next day i had a meeting with Mara simply wanting to end our time at the school for I was never given this information of such practices in the beginning if I had been I could have decided to keep her in or remove her for the period it would be taught - - I paid over 11k for the registration and I was given back 2600 after only being there 2 months - Than when stating their practices to a couple of people at the school they asked if they needed to call the police ? They said they are open on there teachings -?! Why would it be a problem to discuss them?! I was also told they didnt talk about the gods in the book only a Hindu princess - (which I dont recall the exact name used for her) Even worst ! Update after pursuing the return of the remainder amount of our Money - center Montessori school advised me that they had cancelled the check for $2600 and that if I continued the case / or to Speak out they would sue my husband and I along with the law firm - Let this be the answer to the question Is the right place for your children?absolutely not - I have given up On the lost money - but I will not give up On sharing what is being done over there behind close doors since this review has been posted others have reached out to me - in regards to uneasy things they have experienced attending the school - I can say the outside Picture looks good but whats going on inside is not -

We love Center Montessori! From our multiple visits 7 years ago when considering enrolling our son to now, our experience has been wonderful. I only knew a little about the Montessori method seven years ago, but that changed quick. The parents lending library, weekly newsletters, The Silent Journey and numerous other opportunities have provided our family with an understanding and appreciation of Montessori education. The intellectual, social and emotional development the school has fostered in both of our children is impressive, and we appreciate the freedom our children have in the classroom to make decisions for themselves about both large and small matters. Developmentally appropriate problem solving is another wonderful aspect of the school, it has been great to witness our children learn to solve problems and advocate for their needs. Art, music, band, foreign language, playground time, field trips, class business, giving back to the community and more round out the academic experience truly creating a whole-child education. The teachers are responsive, supportive and truly go above and beyond to give your child the best. I am excited for both of my children to attend the school until the 8th grade, I know it will provide them with what they need to move out into the world as teenagers with both a strong sense of self, a desire to learn and a rich academic background. I highly recommend Center Montessori and urge anyone to visit the school and classrooms to learn more. I am so glad I did.
