Upon arriving for my stay, I realized there is no valet parking. Major disappointment. There was no one at the check-in desk at the time I arrived, and I have yet to find the concierge. Amenities are quite poor; I was unable to find a pool. They do have a beautiful fresh-water lake they say you can swim in, but it is filled with snakes and surrounded by barbed wire fence. I also found that there are no beach chairs lakeside. I ended up laying out my own beach chair and waited for a pool-hop server for over an hour. No one ever showed up to take my drink order; again, very disappointing. At this point, I figured I would try their restaurant. It was basically an empty cafeteria with no one working there (although I have been told that they serve food during major storms, I've also heard the menu is quite limited). So, I was left to go hungry, dissatisfied with service, let down by the pool situation, and I was covered in about 600 mosquito bites. Went to go see if my room was ready, and there was still no one at the front desk. I located a small room, which I assumed was mine. The beds (see: cots) are not terrible, but it was no Ritz-Carlton. Overall, I'd say it's a nice place that could do a lot to improve on service (I'm still waiting for the bill from my stay), and it lacks some basic amenities that competitors have as standard. I tried to complain to management, but when I called their number (911), I was told that they could not help with my reservation. Would probably stay again, though.
