Astan African Hair Braiding

This was my WORST SALON experience! The day of my appointment, I call and text to confirm were still on, no response. I arrived and they made me wait. When I sit down the braider proceeds to add a $20 up charge that was not originally discussed when scheduling. I asked for small mid back box braids and got medium braids without box parts or middle part. When I noticed and told the braider, she said it was too late and too much work to create a middle part. She also blamed me for not telling her sooner when she never asked. Overall the part to braiding hair ratio was way off, instead of being boneless my braids are over stuffed adding lots of extra weight. She also curled my ends with braids instead of using the flexi rods I let her know I got. I let her know I DIDNT LIKE MY HAIR! And instead of trying to fix the issue or reduce the cost by $20 she refused and said she did a good job. I didnt press the issue because by her attitude earlier I could tell shed have no issues arguing. Please take your business elsewhere!

I had an amazing experience. The staff was incredibly skilled and friendly, making me feel welcomed right away. The cleanliness of the salon was impressive, and the range of braiding styles they offered was fantastic. I was thrilled with the quality of the braiding; they paid attention to detail and ensured I was comfortable throughout. I'll definitely be returning for their excellent service and recommend it to anyone looking for top-notch braiding expertise!

I came in last Saturday (walk-in) for box braids. The woman there said she couldn't do it til later in the day (absolutely fine as I didn't have an appointment). My hair was done faster than I've ever had it braided previously. The braids are beautiful, clean, neat. The women in the shop were funny, welcoming, and a joy to be around. Will only be going to this shop from now on. Best shop in Lakeland!
