Glamping Florida, by River Ranch

We did platform camping here for the first time over Memorial weekend. Its a cool place to check out, but it's a one and done place for me. Positives: Lots of different camping options from glamping, cabins, RV, to primitive tents and lots of activities to choose from. You shouldn't be bored. Negative: Almost all activities are extra. So you pay to camp, pay for the rodeo, airboat rides, ect. Lots of activities, but they will all cost you. I was really excited about the saloon, but there was one bartender on a holiday weekend, so we stood in line for a drink for 30 minutes and never even made it to the bar. The line also goes right through the dance floor, so there was no room to dance. Which was a shame because the band was really good. Our platform camp site had an open platform in the circle so we put up a small tent for our boys to sleep in. Security made us take it down. We were in the corner of the camp ground, huge open grass area, and they wouldn't let us put up a small, 1 person tent behind ours because we didn't pay for the "primitive tent." So again.... fun ranch to check out for the rodeo, but there are many other beautiful camping spots in Florida that are cheaper with less limitations.

Nearby activities: Lots of activities on site. Walkability: Many people rented golf carts but the whole place is very walkable.

Really disappointed that they literally nickel and dime you for every single experience there. They have only 1 restaurant and the service was horrible and it wasn't even crowded! I bought 3 ice pops from the general store, for $15! like what. You are out in the middle nowhere with no other options for food. The only thing you could do for "free" was petting zoo, swimming in the small pool (that had NO pool towels all weekend) and cane fishing, but you need to buy the $6 tub of worms. Overall won't be returning.
