I called to book a new appointment to have my thinning locs repaired. I discussed the issue with the owner, Trina. She asked for photos which I sent to her. Then she still required me to book a consultation appointment which she labeled a "transfer client." Additionally, her system required me to pay in full via credit card in order to have the appointment confirmed. The consultation consisted of her wetting my hair, drying it and looking at my scalp and hair. For the consultation I paid more than I usually pay for loc maintenance. I was hesitant to book the repair appointment because my first impression of the salon was not a good one. The salon was untidy, disorganized and unclean/unsanitary looking. Since Trina seemed to be knowledgeable about hair care and locs, I booked the appointment for loc repair. I specifically asked for additional hair to be woven into my locs to re-enforce or strengthen the loc. When I came for the repair appointment it was only after she had started and was into the service did I realize she had no hair to add. She simply combined some locs with others to strengthen them. I was there for a total of 6 hours for her to do work that other locticians would accomplish in 1-1/2 to 2 hours! Additionally, she didn't have finishing tape to smooth down the hairline edges. On top of all this, she charged more that twice what others would charge for similar or the same service. After about a month my hair looks exactly as it did before she did my hair. I'm still seeking someone to repair my damaged locs!! She is personable and we had a nice conversation but if you want great service at a reasonable price, my advise is to look somewhere else. Perhaps Trina is better suited to teach about hair care than to perform hair service. Service: Hairstyling
