Park Plaza Hotel

The room seemed as clean as it could be its definitely older but that was expected its in a real nice area for day time but nighttime it is noisy THE REAL ISSUE WE HAD WAS at night the room next to ours had some very sketchy behavior going on that kept us up half they night and I had my children in the room, I was so worried they were hearing what was going on then the sketchy people seemed to leave at 2am and never came back and room was vacant in the morning not sure what kind of people or activities these rooms are being booked for but it made me want to get outta there asap its too bad bc the area seems so nice was not expecting to hear what we heard last night

A glimpse back into history, what a local historic gem. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rooms: Great ambience! Walkability: Hotel located right in the middle of shopping, dining and entertainment district. Food & drinks: Multiple dining and drinking options located walking distance from the hotel

LOUD. We have a balcony room so it was a bit more expensive. Bad idea. At 2:33 AM a person using a power washer began to clean the sidewalk outside of a restaurant called AVA right outside the balconies! It is 3:05 AM and the pressure washer is still going. The exterior doors of the guest rooms here are French doors and do not keep out noise nor cold air (its in the 30s here tonight). I just called the front desk and the man told me this power washing is done frequently & lasts for about an hour. No big deal, apparently. I thought the hotel ownership would want to help end the noise for their guests but they did not offer to call Winter Park PD for assistance. No noise ordinance in Winter Park? The man who checked us in here at The Park Plaza were very nice and hospitable. Wayne the bellman/valet was awesome. But this noise is intolerable and as I still hear the pressure washer running I realize there will be little sleep this evening before our long drive home tomorrow. It ruined our stay. Rooms: LOUD. Small. Not noise proof from rooms, hallways or outside. If weather is cold ask for blankets. Walkability: We thought the location on Park Ave would be great. BUT the hotel is on the corner and the traffic is loud - and when the restaurants close THEY POWER WASH THE SIDEWALKS! AVA is the restaurant. You hear the loud compressor! The noise began at 2:15 AM and is still going at 3:06 AM. The hotel knows. (Says no big deal, they often do this.) I can now hear the guests up and around the hotel so I guarantee they woke due to noise. News Alert: some guests have meetings, appointments, long drives and misc other travel the next day and really need their rest. Power washing at 3:00 AM? Really? Food & drinks: There are bottles of wine and champagne for sale on the desk but no bottled water in the rooms. Bring your own. No fridge or micro. TV is about 16 inches? Like an old computer monitor.

Our overnight stay started out nicely. The daytime staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is lovely. The free earplugs over on the wine mini bar should have clued me in. Later on in the evening , the loud music from the Bovine restaurant underneath our room started and never stopped. Between that, loud guests in the hallway and street noise, I ended up cramming those earplugs into my ears and drifted off to sleep. Woke up before 1am and the music from downstairs was STILL blaring. I tried to call down to the front desk but no one was answering. We decided then to pack up and go home. Never again! Pros: - friendly daytime staff - Beautiful historic property Cons: - extremely noisy - Unprofessional night staff not answering phone
