I guess I'm more upset, really can't speak on her as a counselor. I called approximately a month ago and never received a call back. I understand counselors are probably extra busy in todays climate, however, when someone reaches out for help, I personally believe it should be a priority, to acknowledge them. If you are busy and can't take new patience, then such should be communicated. I've never dealt with a counselor, of my own race, and thought I'd go another route this time. My thoughts were, a black female counselor, would be able to relate to me on another level. She had great reviews, and came across as more seasoned and mature. I will continue my search.

Donna is a therapist in the sense that she is licensed to be one. But in only that sense. Constant last-minute canceling of sessions with 5-10 minute notices, weeks in a row. Forgetting every detail of our sessions in between meetings, although she has a notepad that she intermittently scribbles in. Playing on her phone during sessions. But more importantly, using information gleaned from our sessions to throw jabs as a response when given feedback on her performance. Extremely unprofessional. Would give a 0 if I could.

After struggling with years of depression and anti social behavior, I was recommended by a coworker to D Smith Counseling. I was highly reluctant at first due to my pride of thinking I can just manage on my own. My first session with her was like a breath of fresh air. Its been 3 months now and I'm extremely greatful for the progress we have made. She truly is a professional in her field who feels more like a close supportive friend with years of insight. I highly recommend!!!

She is provides excellent service and is available which is important. Also she connects well and was very open to my style of communication. I enjoyed her services and learned a lot on my journey towards healing. I would recommend her to others for therapy.
