This place is the horrible. The cashier was eating a bag of chips at the front of the store. While whipping his hands on his pants after every chip. There were four people working in the store and no one asked me if I needed help finding anything oh and trust me I was lost lol. Then this gentleman comes in with a suit and tie on and one of the workers jumped in front of him and says Sir can I help you find something today unbelievable.. but not really.

Buyer beware! I am a Ace Rewards member and usually love the help and products I receive at Ace but the Buford, GA S & S Ace Hardware has lost my business permanently over 70 cents! I was having trouble finding the correct replacement halogen bulb for a desk lamp. I purchased what I thought was the right one at Home Depot but had to return because it did not fit - not the right replacement. Went to Ace in Buford with the burned out bulb, ask for assistance and an employee assisted me in picking out what we both thought would be the right bulb - only drawback, they only had this bulb size in a double package and brand was GE. I purchased the double pack only to discover the prongs were too large and it would not fit my desk lamp either. When I went to return, I was told I would be charged a 10% restocking fee. I've heard of restocking fees on returns of big ticket items - I get that. This was a $12.99 package of two halogen bulbs that were recommended by their employee to replace my bulb. I called the manager Maria this morning and let her know she has lost my business over 70 cents. She explained they are a small business and have to pass along their loss for an opened package because no one wants to pay full price for an opened package. I understand small businesses - I own one myself. Sometimes there is a cost of doing business associated with customer satisfaction & retaining customers. This is one of those cases. I will not darken the doors of this Ace Hardware again and will visit nearby locations which so far have been much more accommodating. As for the bulb I purchased at Home Depot - they took back, no questions asked for a full refund. Hey, Maria - ever think about how Home Depot became such a large corporation? Customer satisfaction!
