Horizon Dreams Aviation

I started my training at a major flight school and quit from there a few months later, unsatisfied with their training and overall attitude towards paying students who are made to feel like they were doing us a favor. I arrived at Horizon Dreams a little apprehensive given that they are a small flight school but I was wrong. The lead instructor at Horizon Dreams is owner, Michele Curcio who is nothing but the best instructor all around. She always wears a smile and is ever present to help or discuss your needs and in hand to assist her is Austin who takes care of all administrative needs and manages the front desk, great guy with a laid back attitude always ready to help. Horizon dreams has well maintained Archers with Air-conditioning, Cessnas, Aztec for twin training and also the Cirrus. I am told they are on the lookout to purchase more aircrafts to expand their fleet and maybe even a flight simulator soon. All the aircraft are kept in hangers overnight so you dont have to fret cleaning the frost off the planes on a winter morning, believe me it sucks. With the help of their own in house maintenance there is never any downtime for extended repairs, aircrafts are well maintained and that keeps my mind at ease. So if anybody out there is looking for quality training in safe and well maintained aircrafts and most importantly if you want to learn something during your training come over to Horizon Dreams Horizon Dreams is housed in a brand new hanger, with plenty of study space upstairs, with the airport getting busy with lots of private jets, the county has started work to expand the ramp size and I am told December 2023 the runway is getting new asphalt so things are only getting better.

I really cant say enough good things about this flight school. They have a wonderful fleet of well maintained aircraft. You can learn low wing, high wing, six pack, glass, and they have a Piper Aztec high performance twin. There is a mechanic on site to do all of the inspections and this ensures safety and efficiency of training. The area around KAJR is perfect for flight training. Unlike some of the busier airports in Atlanta where you may sit on the ground for 30 minutes with the engine running, at AJR you can be airborne much more quickly, which saves you money and makes your training as productive as possible. There are many nearby airports and varied terrain/airspace so you will get a well rounded training experience. Horizon Dreams is a great choice for folks wanting to fly for recreation, but is also a great option for people wanting to pursue aviation as a career. You can train very frequently and get it done as they have the aircraft and instructor availability. You can obtain all of your ratings here and their aircraft are available to rent for time building or recreation. This is a fantastic flight school with instructors who are invested in your success and anyone considering flight training should check them out.
