I went in to ask about a home refi. The man, his last name starts with a C, was extremely condescending. I have had a WONDERFUL experience with an auto loan from here just a month prior and thought I would get the same high level of service this time. The person said, "Let me show you how to find your home's equity". I did not ask him for an education lesson, and the fact that I was not sure of the equity in my home, doesn't mean I don't know what was in it. The lines of questions he asked, some were irrelevant. My questions: Do you do home refi, what are the rates, can I pull the equity out ( I know I have a significant amount, just not the exact dollar). Pretty plain and simple. It's easy to see how some can be taken advantage of and feel intimidated. I assume this banker/broker felt he had power in the situation, smh. His tone, his body language, he was dismissive. At one point, he even said, "I don't mean to sound dismissive but...". Yeah, he even knew it. I got up to leave after a few moments, it was pretty clear that under no circumstances would I feel comfortable doing business with this man. As I put my papers and binder on his desk, he must have noticed something that made him feel I was not as misinformed as he thought I was. All of the sudden he said, "Can I get your email or give you my card to follow up with you?" I said "No thanks". Here's the thing. Even if I am misinformed, do better. Treat people the right way. He needs to go back through basic interaction and people skills training.
