I made my deposit January of 2021. All through 2021 I tried to contact them with no reply. At the end of 2022 I started looking for a new breeder. I am now adopting from another breeder a different dog. Top Dogg Giant Schnauzers communication was nonexistent. At this point I just want my deposit back, but not sure how that will ever happen. Please beware! Thanks.

This review is based on facts. It will be updated when further facts are gathered.I gave a deposit in Sept 2022, picked up puppy Dec 2022 that was great and unexpected since the web site said at least 1 year.Upon driving to the facility from NYC to GA. They were unprepared for our appointment. The disgusting odor from the kennels was lingering through that nice little waiting area they have pictured. The dog was filthy.I informed them of a possible issue with my Giant Schnauzer after her first checkup. They dismissed it as "ridiculous".They didn't have the paperwork available upon pickup of the puppy. Foolishly I left trusting them. 2 months later after asking, they finally arrived. To my shock the certificate says Blade and Skylar (my puppies parent) are BROTHER and SISTER from the SAME litter. They stated that that was an administrative error. REALLY! If you look closer it appears that Skylar and Blade's parents were also brother and sister from same litter. This is "Inbreeding " not "line breeding". This practice increases the chance of your dog being a genetic cesspool. Which in lameness terms means vet bills and possible shorter life span.Upon communication with other persons on a group message sent to me it appears that there is something shoddy if not shady with the collection of a $1,000 "Non refundable" deposit which goes to "THEIR" charity. There are persons who haven't received their dog in almost 2 years. They only recently lowered it to $100, and have changed the fine print on holding your deposit. It was 12 months, now it's 24 months. Ask yourself do you want to leave a "Non Refundable" deposit, of any amount and you are not put on an official list or given a #. And then find out that someone else gets one in 3 months after you've waited almost 2 yrs.Hopefully it's true and it is an administrative error over 2 generations. Leading to countless #'s of inaccurate litter certificates having been issued by them. But my experience with them doesn't allow me to take their word for it soI am in the process of getting my pup's genetics tested and will update on her (COI) Genetic Coefficient of Inbreeding, and any other relevant information one might need when making a decision to patronize this seemingly wonderful business.Learn lessons from my mistakes. The State of Georgia does not have any Pet Lemon Laws. Ensure that you get a contract that states the time that the "breeder" has to produce a puppy before a "Full" refund is warranted. The contract should have some kind of "Genetic and Health" guarantee backed by parent's history and testing. Don't make final payments without having papers in hand.Understand that the AKC registration means nothing as far as "inbreeding" is concerned. They leave that up to the discretion of the breeder, and the expense and heartache of the puppy parent.Research why "inbreeding" can be detrimental to puppies.

After having a horrible experience with the other giant schnauzer breeder that's in atlanta and who ghosted me after I drove over an hour to pick up my dog, I called Topp Dogg and spoke with Sheila. They didn't have any puppies for sale, but had a one and a half year old male available. After meeting the dog I fell in love with him. After taking him home we found out he was too big and too aggressive for my wife to handle. I spoke with Blake at Topp Dogg & he said bring him back if it's not a fit. He had another one for me to look at and she was a perfect fit for us. I love what Topp Dogg is doing for the Military vet's and also love their great customer service. Blake and Sheila really know how to run a business. So glad I made the call!

Update: I could write a long essay to explain all that took place between my original review 8 months ago and now, but I'll stick to what matters most. Yes, communication between breeder and customer was terrible through the vast majority of the process. I made the original deposit in October 2021, and when I made the deposit, it said it was for a spring 2022 litter. Summer 2022 came around, and there was no communication. You see the original post below, which explains how that went. Originally, that was a 1 star post. Eventually, communication was made around October 2022, and communication was a lot easier going. Auctavia was a blessing to hear from, and I was even able to communicate with Sheila during parts of the process. But now, for what's most important. After it's all said and done. We have our pup, and the little guy is absolutely amazing! And with that being said. It made it easy to forget the sheer panic and concern my family faced after making the deposit and then hearing nothing for a year, wondering if we were scammed. (I don't live in GA where I can just go check and make sure they are still there). Healthy pup, great temperament, and Sheila did go out of her way at the end to make it a better experience than I originally had. And with that, respect is given. Original review: When I made the deposit, the response and customer service was amazing. Now I've been trying to get in contact with someone for a month and no one picks up, no one calls back, and no response to email or text... What's going on?
