D'Cuban Cafe

Like stepping inside and being transported to a little "cafeteria" back in Miami. You gotta try the I prefer the beef pastelitos over the chicken myself. **UPDATE** I don't know if there has been management change, but there seems to be a lot of employee turnover. Having you said that, The food and coffee have lost their Cuban taste(and I know Cuban flavor because I lived in Miami for 30 years.)The frijoles are too watered down, and my "ropa vieja" was Too tomatoey. The initial "Sazn" of the food has not been the same for a while.** Please Bring Back Da Flava!!**

Love this place. Great service, good pricing, and authentic Cuban cuisine. I stop by at least once a week. Highly recommended!

As a black male with Cuban heritage from South Florida, I found this restaurant to be incredibly disappointing in its lack of authentic Cuban flavors. Despite its appearance, the food did not resemble Cuban cuisine in taste. I ordered congri and a vegetarian plate, along with coffee. Unfortunately, the congri was unpleasant, and the vegetables, although resembling fajita style, were also unsatisfactory. Even the coffee failed to capture the essence of Cuban style. The only redeeming aspect was the platanos. It seemed unlikely that anyone working in the restaurant was of authentic Cuban descent; they may have been of Mexican or another non-Cuban Hispanic background. Im Cuban descent most of the people giving 5 stars arent Cuban. They may be Hispanic, but that doesnt make you Cuban. Cuban cuisine possesses a unique flavor that distinguishes it from other Hispanic cuisines, including those of the Dominican Republic and other Caribbean countries. Despite receiving high ratings from non-Cubans, it's important to be cautious as this restaurant's food lacks the authentic taste of Cuban flavors. While the dishes may resemble Cuban cuisine in appearance, they fail to deliver the true essence of Cuban culinary traditions. The young woman who served us was very pleasant and provided excellent service.
