Equitax does an excellent job at reasonable cost.  Trying to negotiate with the county on your own places you as "a stranger in a strange land".  County assessors know all the methods to defend their assessment against us as amateurs.   Employing a lawyer can be very expensive.  If you have a good case for an assessment reduction I found Equitax very effective in getting results.  While they have access to much data, the more information you can give them on your knowledge of comparable sales values in your neighborhood and the condition of your property (including pictures) the better job they can do.   All my communications with Equitax, including the CEO, assessors and office manager were very professional.  When you compute your tax savings over the three year "freeze" they negotiate the Equitax fee is very reasonable.

Have used Equitax three times in ten years on city of Atlanta real estate tax appeals. Have won all three times and saved over $10K in taxes as a result of their efforts.

They did a great job in getting my property valuation back down to a nominal increase of 4%.  The county increased my property valuation by 26%  and  Equitax got it back down to only a 4% increase with my valuation frozen for another three years. I have used them in the past and I would highly recommend them for filing your property tax appeal.

I've engaged several property tax appeal companies over the years and must say that I've been more impressed by EquiTax than all the others not to mention many other companies I've worked with regardless of industry.  Their communications throughout the entire process were clear, efficient, and proactive; I couldn't ask for more and recommend them without reservation!
