Hawai‘i Loa Lū‘au

There was no pig riast, just a cold pig with chewy skin being carved. Preople were friendly and the venue is really pretty., really cool dancers... but this was not the luau I was expecting.

Our first experience at a lau, so nothing to compare to, but I felt this was VERY overpriced for the total experience/food. It was nice, but not worth $200/per person IMO. It was all fine the location, service, food & performances but I was underwhelmed for the price. Just my honest feedback. $100/pp and Id give this a higher rating for the value.

Alii seating in very front was worth the extra cost. Food was average, but plentiful and drinks flowing. The show was fantastic and fire dancer engaging with the crowd. I've been to 3 different luau's, and this is my favorite. Maybe because we were front row with Alii seating. The photographers with island breeze productions took great guest photos also.

Second worst luau ever. The Hilton Waikoloa Village luau is in a terrible location near the parking lot of the resort. It is hot and isolated with a view of nothing. The Fairmont Orchid's is now in the back of the resort next to the trash, propane tanks and tennis courts. It is such a disappointment. It used to be by the ocean but they decided to move it for some terrible reason. They do not say on the website it is in the back of the resort now, and that you cannot see the water, nor get sunset views, even though the website shows pictures of the water. This used to be an incredible luau, but the Hawaii Loa Luau is not worth your money. There are far better luaus, even worse food and experience luaus, with far better atmospheres and ocean and sunset views. This is so over priced now for the experience, you are better off going to Hale Kai or Browns for dinner and saving yourself hundreds of dollars. Or, taking a shuttle to one of the other luaus. It is very sad as this used to be one of the best. Oh, and they will not refund your money if, when you get there, you are unhappy and sit near the smelly trash and storage warehouse. Or your view is of the tennis court. Best to just not go and have a better time somewhere else.
