I didn't stay at the hotel. So I can't talk about the rooms and comment on the service. The hotel has a great view of the ocean. They have public parking so you can access the beach. The resort was nice and clean in the lobby area and outside by the pool. I know plastic waste from the ocean is a problem and I would recommend that the resort try to make an effort to clean the beach. It had so much on the beach it's heart breaking.

Caution: Hidden Fees Alert! Despite being assured by the hotel front desk that the only additional charge beyond our reservation was the $35+tax per night resort fee, we were shocked to discover nearly $150 in unexpected charges the following day. We were initially informed that both valet and self-parking were covered in our reservation, only to be told later that an additional $29+tax per night was required for parking on top of the resort fee. This unauthorized doubling of charges is unacceptable, especially after being assured otherwise. This resort is notorious for its hidden fees, evident from numerous similar complaints that have been blatantly disregarded by the management. It's clear they prioritize profit over customer satisfaction. Save yourself the headache and seek accommodations elsewhere to avoid falling victim to their deceptive practices.

We had decided to visit Kauai for a couple of days and Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort was recommended to us for its great Kamaaina rate. The hotel was beautiful. We were greeted with smiles at the door, checked in with Liz and Sadie, who provided excellent service. We had originally reserved an ocean view, but had changed our room due to repairs (noise) that were being done near the original room we were put in. We were quickly moved to another room, and honestly, I think every room has some kind of ocean view. We ended up overlooking the pool and garden which was so beautiful! I liked that view better than just the ocean view. (No need to pay extra for designated ocean view room!) Even the gift shop had the nicest people working there! We were able to have a couple drinks in the evening at Shutters lounge and a great breakfast at Naupaka (both located in the hotel and both gave us superior service). Location was good, where you were situated in the middle of the main drag and also close to the airport. Would definitely stay here again! Rooms: Rooms were spacious with lanai and I think any location offered great views. Walkability: Not walkable. You need a car on Kauai unless you are planning to just stay at the resort for leisure! Food & drinks: Hotel had great lounge and restaurant. High end, not inexpensive, but it was worth a treat. Breakfast was excellent!!!
