Takes forever to pickup and lots of bugs. Been trying to fix something since August and can hardly get a hold of anyone and when I do they just keep telling me to wait. They lost my paperwork after an appointment there as well.

During Covid-19, getting an appointment has been difficult; however, Justin Camp has been very helpful in assisting me to arrange appointments for my clients. If anything, I would hope the Social Security Administration could allocate more personnel/resources the the Lewiston Office since they serve such a large territory.

Their service is so horrible. I really recommend you not go this place. I made appointment in recently here. I drove 45 minutes to go there to submit the document and they closed even i made appointment that day. Please go diffrent place. Don’t waste time

I applied for a name changed in the end of May, the lady said it should only take 4 weeks to receive a new SSN name. And I explained my situation that my working permit (student OPT) will be expired in mid July. She was confident that it’ll be ok. I called in couple times to keep track on it. After 6 weeks, I still did not get anything and July passed by, I called in one last time and another lady said the case was canceled because my OPT has ended. I was so frustrated and tried to explain my situation. The lady who confidently said it would be fine refused to talk to me even though I know she was in her office atm. Due to Covid, everything is slowly processing. I get it, but at least apologize for what had happened, yet no. She did not feel apologetic and just let it went by like nothing happened. Now my name on my DL is not matched with my SSN. How sad

A bit of understanding goes a long way. It’s been a very long, at times frustrating, process to get my name changed. I was finally able to speak with someone (Nate? I believe- thank you btw) politely but quickly pushing through a flurry of calls working from home, efficient and quickly to help as many people as possible. The workers are not in control of how the office is regulated, I’m sure they would love to return to a less frantic pace with more understanding from the people they are helping regarding their work place. They workers may seem frank, but it’s the only way they are able to help as many people as they can in their work day. It takes some time to get through the phone lines- I have been trying for days. I have got the message that cuts you off, the busy signals all of it. The offices are overrun with calls and processing time is long with almost everything going through the mailing system being scanned, stamped and filed and documents mailed back off to later be processed and put into the system. Takes patience, and a bit of redial magic but eventually you will get help. Thank you to the Lewiston Social Security for doing your best under the imposed restrictions you have to deal with, it must be exhausting to have field the negative feedback that comes from being inundated with calls and not enough time or staff to get everyone taken care of in the time that they perceive fit.
