I'm going to start off by saying that the guys at Meridian Auto are very professional and provide a very good service. BUT their prices are borderline criminal. I used to be a die hard customer of MA and have had many vehicles worked on by them, but in recent years the prices have increased steadily and have gotten to the point where they aren't competitive compared to other mechanics. Most recently, my girlfriends Ford Escape needed major maintenence (engine and transmission replacement). We expected it to be expensive, but the quote we received was ~17k with a 3 year, 36k mile warranty. Given the price of the quote, I shopped around town for something more reasonable and got multiple quotes that came in far below 17k. The one we ended up settling on was from a mechanic in town that offered to replace the engine and transmission with brand new Ford factory parts, with a 3 year unlimited milage warranty, AND a loaner car free of charge for a total price of ~13k. I don't understand how MA can justify their service to be so expensive (~4k more) when other mechanics can offer the same service with a better warranty and even a loaner car. To sum things up, MA is going to fix your car well, but be prepared to pay above market value for their services.
