Signed up for a simple 6 zone irrigation blowout after being referred by my previous technician who no longer serviced my area. Received an invoice on the day of service and paid it immediately that same day. I got an email a week later stating I have an unpaid invoice. The invoice in question was a separate invoice number from the one I paid for the same total and work scope. I tried responding, informing them of the mixup, only to receive another email several days later reminding me of the unpaid invoice. I responded again, informing them of their mistake, only to receive yet another email several days later stating the same invoice was unpaid this time with a late fee. It took them almost a month to cancel the invoice, with not even a one sentence email apology for the mixup. Based on the owners response to all one-star reviews, it's apparent these unprofessional standards come from the top down. Just another business that prides themselves in quantity over quality of service. The only reason I decided to leave this review four months later is that I continue to receive emails from them about offering services, even though I unsubscribed from their email list several times. Just my honest experience, your results may vary.

I really wish I could give this local, veteran owned business more stars, but I had a very bad experience getting my sprinklers blown out last fall. Steve was short and rude when I texted him with questions about the process. They did not come before the first freeze. I had to research how to winterize my backflow myself. I had to take a day off work to stay home and wait for the technician to come because they dont tell you when theyll be there. Not even a time frame. Sure, all these things are in the terms and conditions on his website (except the rude texts), but still I feel unsatisfied about it all. The technician was nice, but at the end of it all he asked me for a tip. Recently this has become a major pet peeve of mine. Every day more and more people are asking for tips for things that are not tip-able. Anyway, today I was turning on my sprinklers again and I had not one, not two, but three blown-off sprinkler heads waiting for me. They werent cracked or anything. Nope, the heads were blown clean off. I found two of the pieces in my yard. Maybe Ill find the third one in my gutter. Factually, I have no way of knowing, but my feeling is that the technician that Steve sent to my house rushed the job big time and used way too much pressure, turning my innocent sprinkler heads into rockets. Please support another business that cares about the work they do. Curious to see what sarcastic comments Steve leaves in reply to this review. *Update* Thought Id leave a little update to say that Steve has reached out and attempted to make things right. Did he offer to reimburse me for the cost of fixing the sprinklers after the damage from his job? No. Did he offer a future discount? Also no. Actually he sent me a long list of reasons Im wrong, and, to top it all off, he threatened to sue me for defamation! Folks, you really cant make this stuff up Steve: Ill be leaving this review up. Ill keep an extra close watch for the sheriff giving me my court summons.

I called The Maintenance Shop on a Thursday afternoon regarding a leaking back-flow preventer. Within 10 minutes, I received a call back from Jesse stating he could come to my house to diagnose the issue. He showed up within 45 minutes of my initial call. In addition to the leaking back-flow, he also discovered the main shutoff valve for the irrigation system to be leaking from the valve housing. He wrote up an estimate and later that evening informed me that he had all the parts available to complete the job. After he arranged for the necessary entities to come out and check for utility lines in the dig area, he was back Friday morning digging a hole around the pit area to gain access to the shutoff and drain valves. His co-worker, Brian showed up a little later to help. The job consisted of changing the main and drain valves, back-flow preventer and testing of the back-flow preventer. The guys did a great job from start to finish. The final invoice was actually less than the initial estimate and I cant say enough about the quick response and excellent customer service I received from The Maintenance Shop! I would highly recommend their services and will definitely be using them in the future. Thanks for all your help Jesse and Brian!

Hi Alyssa. I am sorry you had a bad experience, but it wasn't with us. We have no record in our database with your name in nearly 30 years of doing business in this valley. Please recheck your information. Have a nice day!

Daniel. I am sorry you had a problem with our invoicing. It is done through a third party system, and for a while all the invoices were doubled up and we weren't able to get an answer as to why that was happening. Any email responses to the invoices go to the same system, and during our busiest season of the year, (sprinkler blowouts) there are some we didn't catch. Most we caught right away and cancelled. As for unsubscribing, you did unsubscribe from our sprinkler blowout list, but you are still active in our sprinkler start-up list which is why you received an email recently. Have a nice day!

1. I wasn't short or rude in text communication, and I have all your texts to prove that. (See attached)2. You signed up with us the last week of October, and were the 2,329th person to submit your form. If you want service earlier, I suggest you sign up at the beginning of the season. We opened up our sign-up form back in August. You aren't obligated to stay with us for a sprinkler blowout. It states in the terms that you agreed to, "I may cancel my sprinkler blowout if I feel The Maintenance Shop will not get to my system in a time frame comfortable to me, as long as it is at least TWO hours before the technician arrives at the property."3. Jesse did you blowout, and has done over 10,000 blowouts during his time with us and is no amateur. If heads were blown, it is because they are either old or damaged from lawn mowers or weed eaters, or they were clogged in some way. Even ice could cause that problem. If it was Ice, refer to #2.4. It also states in the terms you agreed to when you signed up that, "The Maintenance Shop will use the utmost professionalism and experience to prevent problems or damage to my sprinkler system during a sprinkler blowout, and I will not hold them liable for damages incurred to sprinkler lines, backflow preventers, main & drain valves, zone valves and solenoids, wiring, valve boxes, hose bibs, timer, or any other part of the sprinkler system during a sprinkler blowout. I understand that parts and devices age over time, and any parts, new or old, are subject to deterioration from hard water and other factors. I will also not hold The Maintenance Shop responsible for improperly installed devices whether it be main & drain valves, backflow preventers, or piping going into and out of the backflow preventer or any other devices on the sprinkler system."5. The technicians are not provided with iPads, or any form of tablet for taking payments. We don't like iPads, and tablets are too bulky to carry around. They also don't ask for tips. Your signature is required for the transaction, and the tip screen automatically comes up when the invoice is made, and you have the option of whether to leave a tip or not.6. It's sad that some feel they are above following the terms they agree to in a legal document.I will be more than happy to send you a copy of your blowout form showing where you agreed to all our terms.Have a nice day!

Thank you for the kind words. Whenever there are water related emergencies, we take them very seriously and do our best to get to them as soon as possible. Water can cause a lot of damage in a very short time. Thank you for your business, and we hope to hear from you again for any other work needed around your home.
