Atlas Demolition - Chicago, IL / Ft. Lauderdale FL

Atlas is demolishing a building near mine in Chicago at Jefferson and Van Buren. I called on Tuesday to ask for better dust control at the site and was assured the issue would be addressed, on Wednesday this picture was taken. Apparently the resolution was even less dust control. As we know, Pre-1980, asbestos was used in brick and mortar. This giant dust cloud created by Atlas is in a high foot traffic area of residential, office, and retail space. Also, Saturday had very high winds and fences that were blown over were not picked up out of the street until Monday. Very unprofessional job. I highly recommend using any other demolition company. This company is careless, unprofessional, and obviously has little care for environmental impact.

I have been working with Atlas for almost 9 years and they have always been one of my favorite companies to deal with. A responsive, attentive team that gives a damn about their process and the end result. From bridges to buildings, they are always one of the best.

Atlas handled the demolition of the 7-story Cassidy building on Canal Street, Chicago. You could not ask for a more cooperative neighborhood partner. They kept the dust, noise, and inconvenience to a minimum. Watching the building come down kept us entertained for weeks.
