Positive Eye Exam Experience but Concerns About Dilation Advice I recently had an eye exam at The Illinois Institute and I must say the overall experience was positive. The staff was friendly, and the optometrist conducted a thorough examination, ensuring all aspects of my vision were checked. However, I have a concern about the advice given regarding the dilation process. It was my first time having my eyes dilated, and someone at the clinic informed me that it was okay to drive afterward. Unfortunately, upon further research, I discovered that driving immediately after dilation can be dangerous due to light sensitivity and impaired vision. While the eye exam itself was perfect, I believe clearer instructions or cautions about post-dilation activities, especially driving, should be provided to ensure the safety and well-being of patients. Overall, I appreciate the professionalism of the staff and the quality of the eye exam, but I hope the clinic can improve the communication around post-exam precautions.
