I daily in industrial sales and am constantly working with managers and foreman in the Steel industry who are always looking for the next best solution to their everyday issues. One challenge in particular relates to the corrosive atmostphere around the steel blast furnaces. Between the combination of acidic water and debris, the walkways in which the foreman work are constantly deteriorating away causing major saftey hazards. AMD, Inc. came in and suggested a special corrosive resistant fiberglass, FRP structure, that can withstand all the elements in that particular area. Not only did they design the platform but the staircase and railings as well. The complete platform structure not only was to OSHA standards, but was light and easy for the foreman to install on site (compare to a heavy steel plateform & staircase). Our customers were very pleased and we have continued to work with AMD on projects moving forward because of the high quality material and design service they supply.
