Dr. Ruffer is extremely well versed in addiction, anxiety and depression. She is compassionate and forthright in her approach. I came to Dr. Ruffer in late summer 2016, new in recovery from Alcoholism and suffered my entire life with depression and anxiety. Dr. Ruffer said to me in our first session "I can help you" and she did just that. Through a combination of talking, writing and the sharing of her knowledge and strategies with me I learned new ways to treat myself, my anxiety and my thinking distortions with simple practices that I still use today and always will. I am now just over 2 years sober and have my anxiety and depression under control with the help of controlled medications and continued psychotherapy. Due to insurance, I was unable to continue my sessions with Dr. Ruffer, but I was with her long enough to be able to carry on what she taught me. I will forever be grateful to her skills, knowledge, compassion and honesty with me.
