We contracted with SG Homebuilders to have our basement finished. We are extremely happy with the final result and would certainly not hesitate to engage SG again for any future projects. While we received bids from many contractors for our basement project, we chose SG because their estimate was by far the most comprehensive and detailed. All other bids obtained were wildly inaccurate and vague - cheaper, but failed to include large portions of what was requested. We felt confident using SG, knowing that our costs and payment plan would be transparent throughout the process. Accordingly, the final cost of our project was completely in line with SG's estimate. Additionally, during the quoting process, SG was extremely prompt and thorough in their communication, noticeably more than the other contractors we engaged. Furthermore, this quick and comprehensive communication style continued throughout the project. From prompt scheduling to constant contact about when subs were coming and going, we really can't think of any way in which their communication could be improved. All the sub-contractors that SG employed were friendly and professional, and did great quality work. The framing and fine carpentry in particular is nothing short of impressive. There were of course a handful of small touch-ups and fixes needed at the end of the project, but SG happily went over all those with us and had them quickly remedied. To balance this review a bit, we did have a couple small nits: (1) it appears there was an error made in estimating the amount of flooring required, as we were left with a substantial amount of spare product that cannot be returned; and (2) the AV sub contractor is the only one with which we took issue. Some of the contracted AV work was done poorly, or nearly-forgotten, creating a lot of back-and-forth trips and things being done incorrectly. That said, SG did ultimately take care of everything quickly and to our satisfaction, without complaint. Our takeaway here is that we should have insisted on more detailed plans and documentation for this portion of the work at the start of the project. In the end, the two issues mentioned above are relatively minor annoyances in a big project that was ultimately very satisfying and resulted in our dream basement. All guests who have visited have been very complimentary of the work!

SG has done an excellent and well managed job for our home. We have used them for a full custom kitchen remodel, flooring replacement on entire 1st floor, Master bathoom renovation, master bedroom refresh, and hallway bathroom renovation. Ryan and Greg make a great team, and everything has gone smoothly as possible with existing renovations. They have always stepped up to repair any issues quickly, and have stood by their work. Highly recommend.

I think the highest praise you can give a company is when you choose to use their services again and again! So the fact that we have hired SG Builders for three different projects at our house (so far), speaks volumes. Thanks to them we have created our dream home! I trust them, I like them, and theres no one else I would want to have on the job!

We were so fortunate to have had SG builders to complete our custom home. They were diligent and professional to work with. We especially valued their integrity and transparency throughout the whole process. SG has solid relationships with their trades people and it shows in the quality of work. Ryan was always available and easy to work with and Greg was extremely knowledgeable and creative with solutions. Although we hadnt started our project with SG builders, we are so thankful they were the builders to complete our dream home that we love! In the words of my neighbor, my home went from drab to fab. Our home had zero curb appeal and an awkward side entrance with two sliding glass doors on the street side. A sidewalk that was sinking and a porch that was too small to use. We closed the side entrance and replaced with a beautiful new window. One of the sliding glass doors became another large window. The other was replaced by a new custom entrance. The old sidewalk was removed and we put in a wide blue stone walkway up to a new extended front porch. The front roofline was redone, with larger windows installed in one of the bedrooms, replacing windows in the other. The stone columns were removed and rebuilt with better dimensions. Add in a full house repaint, new roof, soffit, facia, gutters and leaf guards, new down spouts and we have a drastically different more modern looking home.
