Went for Escape and Survive- loved it so much I joined the Aiki Ninjutsu classes! Michael Eichenberg, the owner, definitely knows what hes talking about, and hes also incredibly approachable and helpful with all of the material. With Escape and Survive, he started with his ethos: essentially his experience in martial arts, body-guarding, etc., which made me feel confident in his knowledge right off the bat. As the course continued, it was evident that he was being truthful with his experience. He expertly balanced the tone in the class with the gravity of the possibility of being in life/death situations with the hope of having a way to defend yourself against it. We went through so many scenarios which were each incredibly well thought-through with incredible techniques for each. This made it super helpful, eye-opening, and a million times better than the self-defense courses Ive taken in the past under various police officers and park districts. Rhiannon, another sensei, was with us for most of the sessions and was absolutely incredible with the material. Not only is she super sweet and helpful with the mechanics of the drills, but she, like Michael Eichenberg, knows how to balance the energy in the room with some lightheartedness and humor, which I have greatly appreciated. With Aiki Ninjutsu, the tone of the classes are much more disciplined and formal, but also much more in depth. Im only a few days in, but Im loving it so far! The other people Ive met in the dojo are also super friendly and helpful, especially Tabi, Rhiannon, and Ive just barely met Michelle Eichenberg, but shes exceptionally sweet as well. My first day in classes, Tabi was talking me through everything the entire time, helping me understand the cultural aspects and the reasonings for different movements in the drills. As I was getting frustrated with taking a while to get accustomed to the drills, Tabi kept reminding me that Im developing new neural pathways, which I found super calming as a person interested in medicine. Shes been understanding, patient, and critical of my technique (which has been super helpful!!!!!), which I have appreciated so incredibly much. She does not humor me with my poorly placed arm-bars. She shows me how its ineffective and makes sure that I can grow past it and improve! Overall, the people make the dojo, and the dojo is absolutely amazing. I cant recommend it enough.

I just completed the 8 week Warrior Women self-defense course, and I loved it! Michelle and Rhiannon are so informative and make you feel so welcome from the get-go. I highly recommend this course and I look forward to taking the advanced course when it's available!

My good friend who is a black belt warrior recommended that I take the Warrior Women classes, and I'm beyond grateful that I did! I am now a white belt training to be in the Aiki Ninjutsu classes. It's so much fun and I'm learning more about my abilities and capabilities, gaining more confidence in myself. Everyone I've trained with so far are so kind and patient and always willing to help! It's a beautiful (and deadly, lol) community.

We stated her after our old school closed and they have been very welcoming. The style seems quite practical.

I highly recommend the Warrior's Edge Martial Arts I've been a student for almost 6 months and my experiences have all been positive. For me the best part of coming here is the owner, Mr. Eichenberg. His teaching methods are nothing short of superb. He has a great sense of humor and always shares humorous stories that are related to the techniques that are being taught. Everyone at the Dojo is welcoming and wants you to succeed. When it comes to this martial art it doesn't matter what your age, physical abilities, physique, or gender are. This martial art is intended for everyone.
