We have ordered two pods for dropoff today. The pods are 4 hours late and after multiple hours on hold and no response to multiple emails we are starting to get very nervous that we will need to find other accommodations for our cross country move. This is for the chicago location.

SMARTBOX PERFORMS UNDER SHADY PRACTICES! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SMARTBOX! I have had nothing but issues with Smartbox for years. I finally decided recently I had enough and scheduled to have my items delivered to my home. Of course I was charged the $119 delivery/return fee. The first question I asked the rep was how long could i have the box out. I was told I had 2 weeks to have the box on my premises before an extra fee would be charged. What was failed to mention was that IF the box crosses your monthly charge, that you will also still be charged the monthly fee. As a customer paying a delivery fee the rep should inform their customers of such information particularly if the box will be out during the monthly charge. That is a very shady practice towards customers. Also if you want to receive items from your box from their premise, their hours are not conducive to ANYONE with normal working hours. The latest you can enter your box is before 3:30pm weekdays and NO WEEKENDS PERIOD! So this forces most customers to have to pay for a delivery to get things from the box or take a day off from work to retrieve items. And to top it all off, one time I did go to retrieve some items from my box, to my horror rodent feces was all over the container! Apparently, rodents will gnaw through the wooden boxes to borough in. These are very shady practices for a company and a way to force additional payments because of their inconvenient hours. I am very fair when it comes to reviews and I write positive reviews when a company performs great service. But in this case, SMARTBOX has many shady practices to nickle & dime their customers. In the end, you will do better storing your belonging with PUBLIC STORAGE. SMARTBOX: Poor quality, poor customer service and overall poor company.

My dealings with everyone at the company was fantastic! We had to change dates a couple times and it was very easy. All our belongings showed up across the country without any damage.

Clean, conveniently sized units. Drop off and pick up took only minutes, and the price is much more reasonable than the bigger companies. Overall, a great experience.
