I was very impressed by how nice the office space is, the staff and the Dr. I learned more during my appt than I learned more about why I have sinus problems than 4 yrs dealing with my Primary care physician, a sleep specialist and an allergist. Looking forward to doing the home sleep study and seeing what they can do to help me with my sleep apnea and sinus issues. I was very impressed with Kristina Hollkamp, she was very knowledgeable, personable and professional.

Before I get into the issues I have, I do want to make it clear that the staff and the care that I received has nothing to do with the score I am giving. Everyone was professional and helpful. The reason I am giving a low score is due to the logistical issues that I've had when it comes to making appointments and the number of times I had to come out to the office. First issue, and let me preface this with that I live about an hour away from the office so coming in for appointments isn't exactly a simple thing for me to do, there are unnecessary appointments. My initial appointment with Advent was back in early December of 2023. It was the consult and to set me up with my sleep study. Upon checking out after that December appointment, I had to setup 2 appointments, 1 to go over my sleep study results and 2nd to get a CT scan. Both of which were in February. The two February appointments could have combined into one appointment. Going over the results of the sleep study lasted about 10 minutes. And the CT scan appointment lasted in all about 45 minutes. The sleep study results appointment could have even been a telehealth appointment to go over the results and next steps. There was nothing done that day that could not have been said or explained over a call. My second issue has to do with the availability of making these appointments. From my initial appointment to my 2nd appointment to go over my sleep study results, was over two months. I then had an appointment in early March to get scanned for my mouthguard. I was told to come back in 3 weeks to go over the fitting. When I went to make the appointment, the first available was 4 weeks out. Ok, so that's not terrible but for someone who has been going through the process for 3 months already, it was annoying. I go in for my April appointment to pick up my mouthguard, I showed up 30 minutes early for my appointment. Got called to the back at the five minute mark. Then I proceeded to wait 30 minutes in the room before someone came in to go over the fitting of my mouthguard. That took a whole ten minutes. I was told I need to come back in 4 weeks for a follow up. When I go to make the appointment, I am told that the first availability is June 3rd. That is almost 5 weeks beyond the requested 4 week follow up. So if something is wrong, I can't get seen for 2 months from my fitting appointment. What this tells me is one of two things. One being that you've overstretched yourselves and cannot serve your patients timely. Or two, you're not actually concerned assisting your patients in a timely manner. I'm sure that several of the patients you receive have issues with sleeping and they're desperate to have their issues resolved. With the way things are working at your location, a patient, such as myself, will have to wait 6 months before, hopefully, having things sorted out. I don't know how you feel about that timeline but I can say as a patient, that is quite absurd. People tear ACL's and are done with rehab within six months. My recommendation for you is two adjust your appointments from 30 minutes, down to 20 minutes, like several medical clinics do. This would allow for more patients to be seen in a day which leads to follow up appointments being able to be made based on the request from the staff. Feel free to reach out to me if you'd like to discuss.

About
ADVENT
Millions needlessly suffer from breathing and sleep issues because the importance of a healthy Breathing Triangle is often dismissed. A healthy Breathing Triangle is defined as an open nose and throat that allows you to breathe 24/7 through your nose - not your mouth. Without this, no treatment will work, daily fatigue will continue and the likelihood for downstream chronic issues will increase - ultimately, putting a limit on your life. At ADVENT we're 100% exclusively focused on solving Breathing Triangle issues and have pioneered simple, yet effective office-based treatments that will help you breathe freely through your nose and keep your throat open.
