It's A Southern Thing: Kitchen & Bar

We stopped in at It's A Southern Thing over the summer and were immediately seated. My BF and I were both craving some comfort food, and what could be better than BBQ??? Our server was prompt and friendly, and my BF couldn't resist geeking out over the selection of beers on offer, he even has an app for that lol. We decided to start with the pork belly app, and it didn't disappoint - the flavors were spot on.For our main courses, we ordered the fried chicken sandwich (which was brined in jalapeno for an extra kick) and the mac and cheese with blackened chicken. We also got the pulled pork with fries and green beans, and a half chicken. Everything was delicious, but the fried chicken sandwich and the pulled pork were standouts.Unfortunately, there was a delay in the kitchen, but our server apologized profusely and the manager even came over to give us a discount card as a gesture of goodwill. Despite the delay, we were having such a good time that we didn't even mind.Overall, we had a great experience. The food was delicious and the service was good albeit slow, despite the brief hiccup in the kitchen. I'd definitely recommend this spot for anyone in the mood for some comfort food and Southern hospitality.
