We had farmers home insurance and didnt realize we were paying $800 more than other companies quoted us. We also got quoted over $100 less a MONTH, for auto insurance. Not once did we ever file a claim on our home, plus we have clean driving records. Needless to say we switched. Now I am trying to get a refund from Dominic for our year of homeowner insurance and hes making it more than difficult after we JUST bought our house and are already going through the stress of buying and moving into a new home. I will never refer farmers to anyone!

We have had Farmers Insurance with Dominic Minniti on our Woodstock home for about 10 years. In all that time, they took our money, raised our premiums, and we never filed a claim until this year after a bad storm damaged our roof. We had a Better Business Bureau A+ rated roofer look at it, and he said the wind and hail damage was extensive and affected almost half the roof. This is something I have pictures of. I filed a claim with Farmers. Their adjuster said the SMALL amount of damage totaled only $600 and that with our deductible, we would not receive anything!! According to the roofer, it was NOT a small amount of damage! When we tried to have the roof repaired, we were told the roof could not be repaired because it had organic shingles, which were no longer being made. Our only choice was to replace the whole roof, which cost us $9000. Farmers insured our roof and then refused to help us when we couldnt repair it. They screwed us royally even though they should have replaced the entire roof since we were not able to get the same shingles to repair it. We have paid our insurance premiums in good faith all these years only to be left holding the bag when something happened. At the very least, our agent Dominic Minniti should have gone to bat for us! He says hes here for you; no, hes here for Farmers, not for you. And if Farmers screws you, so what?! Hes making his commission on your policy- thats all thats important, right Dominic? At least that was my experience. Typical Farmers insurance company - take your money year after year and then find ways not to pay a claim. If we werent selling the house soon, we would be shopping for other insurance immediately.
We will NEVER have Farmers Insurance again, nor will we recommend them to anyone. I will post bad reviews all over the internet to make sure people are aware of what they are getting into with this company. If you sign up with them, you better hope something doesnt happen. You cannot trust Farmers!!!

Not a issue with agent, but with auto claims department with getting vehicle fixed. What should of taken 1 week took 3 weeks, as auto body shop as well as us had to fight with them to get repairs done to my car. And this happened 1 week before our vacation, and they didn't want us using the rental car to go our paid vacation, as they had the auto body shop stop all repairs on my car after they tore it all apart, and it couldn't be put back together, for us to use after returning rental car. And after many phone calls and fighting with them they allowed us to use rental car on our vacation. And then they played games in lying to us and auto body shop on when a adjuster would be sent out to look at car at auto body shop, as they were claiming the photos sent to them wasn't adding up to the cost of total repairs on my car. To then be stuck paying for part of the use of the rental car which was all their fault if these repairs were done in the time frame we were told in the first place. Plus they refused to combine our auto with homeowners as well, to give us a better savings. Needless to say do to all of the problems with them, we are NO longer with them. As we went with someone else who was able to give us more coverage in auto and home for less price than we were paying alone just on our auto. Allstate was able to save us $400.00 a year for both our policies with switching to them.
