I stopped by to get eclipse event info(they have 3 days of programs planned!!) and to check out their wild bird viewing window. It is always active and a good stop to practice some camera techniques. The DNR naturalist on duty was friendly and helpful. There are many local animals on display (taxidermy and live). The gift shop is a nice size for the facility and the free information is plentiful. Extremely nice clean restrooms and a good place to star off on trails.
Restrooms: Very clean and modern. Air conditioned if you are taking a break from a summer hike.

I didn't go inside, but they have an area just to the right side that houses Indiana birds of prey, such as owls, a vulture, a kestrel, and a red tailed hawk. There's no cost to view these birds, just an entry fee into this area of Salamonie during certain times of the year.
