Dr. BaillieThank you for coming all the way down from your church, Open Door Fellowship, in Franklin, where you are the pastor. We know that the Bible teaches us (John 8:7-11) that let ye without sin cast the first stone. Although we are disappointed you gave us a 1-star review, we are very excited it in no way was based on the quality of our food, since you didn’t even try it. We have over 90 5-star reviews loving our amazing desserts. We want to say we understand how it must have been so frustrating for you when you wanted to pay with cash instead of a credit or debit card. We know churches and donations are very much cash driven and you must spend use cash for many expenses. In reviewing the facts on video, no one pointed to a sign, but that certainly does make a better villain of us for the story. Our manager on duty did tell you the total for your order and it was only then you noticed our sign and just turned and left. You did not give anyone a chance to explain the reason for our policy, instead jumping to your own conclusions and then using social media to wish us out of business. That does not seem very Christian to us. Should you not have given us a chance to explain this policy?For the record, we choose not to accept cash because we put our team members’ safety above profits! Let us assure our beloved customers and potential customers that there is no political statement in this choice, but merely avoiding our young team members from having to make late night deposits or handling cash in an ever increasingly dangerous world.We understand that some people may not want their cash spending to be tracked, but many businesses and venues (including Indiana University) have stopped accepting cash for reasons of safety, transparency and accuracy. We hope your statement that we should not even be allowed to be in business is a sentiment others will not share. We wish you peace and hope you find Grace. What you sow shall you reap. God Bless.
