Our stay at the Wampler house was great. The room was cozy and the bed was comfortable. The jacuzzi tub was very relaxing and the gas fireplace was very nice. Everything was super clean. The house has lots of neat areas to enjoy. The weekend breakfast was amazingly good. Amber was so very sweet and did an excellent job in cooking and serving. Sally and Marc were both very nice and easy to communicate with. Theres a great walking area very close, that we enjoyed both mornings. I highly recommend The Wampler house for a nice, quiet, relaxing getaway!

Very nice getaway for the wknd. This bed & breakfast is very well put together and sits in a nice and quiet location. The only thing, I didn't like was the fact they only cook breakfast on the weekends. We stayed, til Tuesday morning so for breakfast I had fruit, yogurt, danish etc. But, everything provided was very good and they were very hospitable. Nearby activities: It's a college town, so there's nearby bars, restaurants, a mall, and a very nice antique mall. It's a must visit. Food & drinks: The restaurants we stopped in were very good. The Red Lobster by the college mall had really good food, and our waitress was very nice. A must visit

I cant say enough how wonderful, clean, and hospitable the Wampler House experience was of the weekend in. We will definitely look forward to our next trip back! And to see Bob in his little store across the street.

My husband and I stayed at the Wampler house for 3 nights. We flew in from Austin to attend a couples retreat. I loved the idea of a B&B, in particular having a fireplace in the room since its a chilly time of year. Marc nicely texted me to ask what time we would be arriving. When we got there, we were shown to our room and right before we entered they said our fireplace was out of order. You can imagine my disappointment of being notified the moment we got there, instead of weeks in advance, since this was a feature I was looking forward to the most. I honestly would have very likely booked an Airbnb instead if I had known this. I texted Marc my concern for the out of order fireplace and suggested he pick up a standalone electric fireplace since we were there for three nights. He simply did not respond. No attempt to provide a space heater (bathroom is freezing when you shower) or any other accommodation was ever made when I texted him again, and asked if he had another solution. He didnt even reach back out to me the whole time I was there. The house itself is cozy; its a bit like staying at your grandmothers house. The breakfast was lovely. They have coffee and tea 24/7 and snacks and fruit out for their guests. If you are staying on the bottom floor and there are guests above you, it is extremely loud as the home is very old and you can hear every step in the bottom room, which made it difficult to get a good nights sleep. Our room also had a full/queen size spring mattress which was very bouncy. We have not slept on a spring mattress in years, so we both left with backaches. That is just personal preference. When we saw Sally in person during breakfast on our second day, and she asked about our stay I mentioned the poor customer service regarding the fireplace, and she just stared at me blankly again with no offer to remedy the situation in any way. On our third night, we were the only guests staying there, so it wouldve been easy for them to offer us another room, or at least offer some sort of discount. I was disappointed in the customer service of the management team, but the breakfast staff was delightful.
