Che Bello

We traveled to Bloomington for the 2024 eclipse. Totality was at 3:00pm and we had booked an air bnb so we figured we should go out and have dinner. We had reservations at 8:00pm but arrived a little early. They were able to seat us pretty much right away. We could tell the FOH staff was bare bones; one hostess, a busser, a server, a bartender and the manager. They rocked it out. Alfredo the manager took care of us personally. Everything was prompt and correct. Food was hot and tasted great. The atmosphere was comfortable. All in all a great experience. I was a little apprehensive because there are some scathing online reviews but honestly, i think those are people with pre pandemic expectations who have never worked in the service industry just looking for things to complain about. We had a great time and If were ever in town again well be stopping back in. My only criticism is they need to update their online menu.

Great atmosphere, food, and service. Alfredo and Katey were excellent. Looking forward to our next date night at Che Bello!! Try the Aperol Spritz!

Easter brunch was amazing! amazing staff, very friendly and personable! Will be coming back on our next trip! Kid-friendliness: Waitress talked to our daughter so sweet!

An absolute joke and disgrace to the area. 6 people w reservations 1hour wait for cold nasty food but only served 4 of us. 20 minutes later the 5th was severed cold junk as well. An hour n a half later the last of our party was served. Close and lock your doors permanently just out of humility n shame

Very disappointing. When we arrived for Easter brunch, the restaurant was less than 1/4 full. The menu on the table had considerably fewer items than the online menu we used to choose our brunch location. We had seven people in our party. Our cold food was delivered over an hour later by a runner that has no idea who ordered which item. We had to request one meal that was missing. Our server didnt come to check to see if everything was acceptable until we were nearly done eating. After witnessing the neighboring tables issues with cold, incorrect food, we had decided that we were just going to eat what they brought us. We enjoy eating out in Bloomington , but cold eggs and hash browns, dry chicken and waffle (note I didnt say waffles or tenders because you only get one) and biscuits and gravy that had spent an hour under the heat lamp is not our idea of fine dining. Not sure how the rest of the day went but the people outside when we were leaving were commenting how they were on time for their reservation but they still needed to wait an hour to be seated. Other restaurants in Bloomington would have handled this differently. While waiting, the server will refresh beverages and possibly offer a complimentary appitizer. When the food is being delivered, no matter how late it is, the server is present to make sure everyone receives the correct food and asks if anyone would like anything else ( something as simple as pepper that was not on the table). A manager would come to the table at the end of meal, apologize for the inconvenience, and offer to try to make things right with us. We were simply asked if the meal was all together and then handled a bill for the full amount , a 20% auto gratuity, and a spot for additional gratuity.
