They stole my money and will not refund it. I never submitted a manuscript. They have terrible reviews all over the net.

Dumped thousands for inadequate typesetting and absolutely no proof reading. Making any revisions as well as ordering author copies was also ridiculously expensive so I just published directly to amazon. Obviously, Balboa is fine with saturating the market with garbage so long as they make a fortune from aspiring authors. Like all self-publishing companies, they are not in business to make money for the author, but FROM the author

Balboa representatives are excited to get your money because after the so called process begins you will have to stay in contact with this company. Then the up sale on other products like for editing which they say will help your book sound industry ready is not accurate. But it is basic grammatical edits which took over 2 months. Unacceptable. I am basically editing my book again when I have paid for this service. Then I had to keep calling to get it sped up. Only after me calling did they get on it. By the grace of God I will continue to move forward because I trust God and not men. These comments are to be a learning stone for this company. Then back to the editing, the editor has the nerve to write in the edit comment section, And I'm not going to say it again. What? I paid over a extra $1000 to be told this which is so unprofessional. So like I stated its just a hype at the beginning but the proof is in the pudding.

1 STAR Horrible, Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Do not use this company under any circumstances. Read the reviews. Balboa Press is dishonest. It's a scam. They charge a small fortune for very little - and they charge you, as my dear departed father would say, "coming and going." After having the awful series of experiences I had with Balboa Press (one of the companies under the umbrello, "Author Solutions," I wrote the detailed description that you can read below. I was still under the impression when I wrote it that Balboa Press was a company with some integrity and I thought that it would make a difference to complain to the CEO. I was told 3 times when I called the main number of the company that the CEO is a certain man, who, as it turns out is just an author who published a book through them some time ago. If you wish to read the details of the awful experience via a copy of the letter to the "CEO" with the names removed, it is posted in the Better Business Bureau reviews under the umbrella company name, "Author Solutions."
