Waited 6 months for a follow up appointment simply for a fitting of what I need for a procedure. Received email with date 1 week in advance which I could not make. When I asked for another day, they went 4 months out. That was even with having been on a cancel list. Horrible customer service or care!

I went there because I had a kidney stone that I was not sure I passed or not. I actually made the appointment the end of August and the soonest they could get me in was November. I obviously went to another urologist in the meantime because that is such a long time to wait while having a kidney stone. The other urologist Im seeing requires payment upfront and due to Medicaid insurance being shut off I dont have health insurance at the moment and IU sends the bill instead of same day payment so I figured Id go to the appointment I made months ago while Im waiting on my fianc to get me on his health insurance through his work. I figured they would do a scan like my other urologist is going too but they wanted to do an ultrasound, which she said still isnt very accurate but if it doesnt look like my kidney was irritated they would just assume I passed my stone? They didnt take my temperature either which my other urologist does every time. Ive been in a lot pain the last couple months and I asked if they could send me pain medication. She said yes and then asked how often Ive been taking the norco for pain and I said as prescribed and she had a scared look on her face and was like around the clock? I mean yeah Im in a lot of pain I have a kidney stone that doesnt want to pass! I asked for toradol and the norco and explained that I only take the toradol when I have to drive and cant take the other one obviously while driving. Well she sent the toradol to my pharmacy and flomax which Im allergic too. I called and asked why they sent that Im allergic to it and they said they didnt realize that I had an allergy to it even though I definitely told the nurse that was asking me about my history and everything that I am allergic to it. I asked if they were going to send the other pain medication and they said Dr. Shumate said not until they give me an ultrasound. I dont understand why she didnt just tell me that in the office. Shumate was looking at my scan from the hospital and was saying its hard to believe I didnt pass the stone already basically because it was so close to reaching my bladder. And also made a weird comment about my scan saying how skinny I was. Like what does that have to do with how I pass a stone.. I just feel like I know my body more than anyone else and I was right because I just passed the stone this morning! I just feel like she wasnt listening to me and I didnt like how she treated me after I asked for pain medication. Like she was nice but you could tell she was just being fake nice. I called my other urologist afterwards and they sent me more pain medication no problem and I am glad that this whole kidney stone situation is over!
