Our daughters both attended CMS. We had a great experience. Both learned so much while they were there and made a lot of good friends. We always felt secure dropping our kids off at CMS--we knew they would be seen, loved, cared for, and educated.

My son went to CMS and is now excelling in school as a second grader. He looks upon his preschool years very fondly. He was well prepared for kindergarten. I believe Montessori helped him create an inquisitive mind and instilled a love of learning. Emily the director is very warm and caring and very organized. She sets proper expectations for children to help develop their social skills which is the most important thing at this age. The school is very aesthetically pleasing and clean. My daughter is now attending school there and I feel very excited for her growth there, At the time of this review, we are in a pandemic and I feel so comfortable sending my daughter to school here. Emily has a true attention to details and thoroughly cares about the students, their well-beings and the families. I appreciate all that they are doing to keep our kids safe right now. I had checked out many different preschools in the past throughout Carmel all the way to Broad Ripple and I can confidently say that there is truly no comparison. Most preschools are glorified day cares. I would highly recommend this school for all different types of children.

My son has grown so much - both academically and socially while at CMS. I highly recommend this school to parents who are looking for a school that is fun for kids and hands on. While looking at other Montessori schools in the area, CMS stood out because it was clear that the kids at CMS were happy and having fun. I appreciate that CMS has a comprehensive curriculum that spans more than math and reading. My son completed so many great art projects and maps during his time at CMS. His geography skills are great thanks to CMS; he has a favorite French painter thanks to CMS! Ms. Emily does a great job of working 1:1 with students- especially when it comes to reading. She also has a very balanced approach when working with the children- very kind but firm.

We have been attending Carmel Montessori for five years and have loved our experience from the start. My son started at age three and continues now with summer camp as a student and a leader. The preschool is absolutely beautiful and the work the children do is levels above daycare and mom's day out programs (they pin-poke maps or Europe, Asia, Africa etc starting at three years old!) Given that the Montessori classrooms are all age, children are getting exceptional socialization as well. They have to learn to work with the littles and learn by example from the older students. I love that Montessori teaches the students to be independent while working together as a group. We have had an excellent five years at CMS and are sad that this will be the last summer we can attend. I feel grateful that Carmel has this preschool option!
