My mortgage payment increased a whopping (approx.) $200 per month waiting for their "replat" to be completed. It took FIVE MONTHS from signing the purchase agreement to closing! During that time, interest rates skyrocketed. Next time, do what's fair and just and INFORM THE BUYER on the online listing (before an agent shows them the property) that you need to do a "replat" and that the buyer WON'T BE ABLE TO LOCK IN an interest rate for months and months. Or, better yet, do your "replat" first and then list the property. It's only fair. To say that I'm extremely unhappy with the deal I got is an understatement.
